Bridlington Town AFC’s PPA leads to estimated annual savings of £42,000

Local football club steps up its commitment to clean energy.

Bridlington Town AFC (U.K.-based football club) signed an eight-year solar PPA with HDM Energies (U.K. renewable energy power generator) in 2024. Under the agreement, a 400-panel solar array capable of generating 180 kW was fitted on the roof of the stands at Bridlington’s stadium.

With an estimated annual saving of £42,000, the deal gives Bridlington Town AFC access to affordable renewable electricity to power their 2,800-capacity stadium at a fixed low-cost rate, offering price certainty and improved energy security for the club.

Signed through HDM Energies’ ‘Energy for All’ scheme, Bridlington Town AFC can purchase the solar energy produced directly, at rates much below grid-supplied energy prices.
